One of my favorite aspects of woodworking is finding “the surprise inside” a piece of lumber. To many people, the board here is a useless scrap; about 24 inches long, 10 inches wide and somewhat gnarly. To me, this piece asked to be cleaned and cut into useable pieces of wood.
And that’s what I did.
I even had enough left over to make a small decorative serving tray.
In the end, I was rewarded with a beautiful box that was ideal for holding trinkets or loose change. Personally, I like it displayed on a shelf or end table. The less than desirable piece of wood turned into a remarkable accessory. Who could ask for anything more.
Every box here at My Wooden Box is unique and special because the wood used is unique and special. Peruse the pages and pick one to enhance your living space.
